The Jade Kenney-Blackman Foundation is a New Zealand registered Charitable Trust.

The JKB Foundation trust has been established in memory of the late Jade Kenney-Blackman. A beautiful, sucessful young woman, wife and mother who lost her short battle to bowel cancer at the age of 44 in early 2024. Jade’s charismatic approach to building heartfelt relationships was not just in her personal life but in all aspects of her business acumen. Jade consistently spoke at finance and women’s events sharing her knowledge. Jade encouraged, motivated and inspired all walks of life, to continually keep educating ourselves, to be present and to elevate and support others whenever possible within our community.
The JKB Foundation's mission is to - CONNECT | EDUCATE | INSPIRE - The first initiative of the JKB Foundation is to recognise Jade's own journey into her finance career, by way of providing an annual scholarship to a female tertiary student entering the finance industry in New Zealand. - The second initiative of the JKB Foundation is to provide financial support to The Gut Foundation, helping to promote awareness and signs of early detection of bowel cancer to the community of Canterbury. WHY? you may ask… Every day in New Zealand 9 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer and 3 of them will die from this diagnosis.

Hamish Blackman

TRUSTEE
After losing his beloved wife Jade to bowel cancer just eight days after their wedding, Hamish wanted to memorialise her life achievements in recognition of her successful career as a financial adviser and the widespread love and respect that she had justifiable earned throughout her life. Working in the finance industry himself, Hamish understands the need to bring greater diversity into the industry. He wants the JKB Foundation scholarship to reward other young women who, like Jade, may have experienced a tough journey in achieving their finance qualification. - a pathway that demonstrates a testament to true character and determination. In light of Jade's fast deterioration without warning, Hamish is passionate about helping others avoid a similar fate. This is why the JKB Foundation is aligned with The Gut Foundation to provide financial support in their tireless task of educating people about identifying early signs of bowel cancer. Early detection can save lives!

Arthur Devine (Art)

TRUSTEE
Art was first a friend of Jade after meeting with his relocation to Christchurch from Marlborough. His connection to this charity has been right from the integral start. Secondly a very important and connected part of Art’s life is his involvement in raising vital funds to help keep our Canterbury and New Zealand Charities, Foundations, and essential service providers available within our community. Art has been in the cold face of adversity and seen first-hand through the passing of his parents, sister, and nephew the crucial and important support network these providers offer and create when surrounding a person or family at a time of need and this is the driving force for Art to help make a change so others continue to access these services. Through Art’s infectious and positive energy, He has earned himself and become undeniably a part of National fundraising initiatives for charity’s, He has personally been responsible in leading fundraising teams and MCing events to raise over $1.3 million dollars in charity proceeds, something he is very proud of knowing that he belongs within a community that identifies the importance to look after one another Involvement with charities have been: • The Graham Dingle Foundation• NZ Breast Cancer Foundation• Hospice• PEPTalk Magazine• NZ Cancer Society• Hope Walk• Relay for Life
